Susan Ragsdale & Ann Saylor (YMCA) - Experience research on healthy youth development in a fun way as participants play the Hidden Treasures of Assets board game.  See why teachers, parents and counselors are excited about these key factors that positively impact youth!   Improved grades, appreciating diversity, delaying gratification and maintaining good health are just a few of the results of this holistic approach to education and youth development.
10:00-12:00: College Track on Service Learning
Lindsay Daly (Youth Life Learning Centers) and Christin Shatzer (Lipsomb Service and Learning Together) - Are you leveraging the resources found in your own backyard?  Build capacity to deliver your program services while utilizing the time, skills and talents of local students through strategic partnerships of colleges and universities. This interactive workshop will describe a successful partnership between the Youth Life Foundation of TN and Lipscomb University’s service-learning program SALT (Serving and Learning Together). Come learn more about service-learning, a cutting edge philosophy on education in universities today where students apply the knowledge and concepts they are gaining in the classroom to significant community based projects in partnership with public serving organizations.  This workshop will assist you in creating your own plan to reach out to college students, faculty and university campuses in your area.
10:00-12:00: The Art of Leadership
Brian Church (Asland Guild) & Lee Feliciano (Youth Life Foundation of TN) - The art of leadership is sought by virtually everyone. It is claimed by many, defined by a few, and exercised by the unheralded, depending on the source you use. This workshop will explore five pillars of leadership: Brilliance, Belief, Benevolence, and Brawn.

1:15 – 3:30: Edutainment
Scott Chevalier (Powerhouse Youth Project) - Reaching Youth in the School and Community Edutainment. Are they listening?  Do they understand?  How do I connect with my students?  Is it making a difference?  If you have ever asked these questions about your program or event while working with students, this seminar will provide you the tools to answer them...During this session you will learn:
1.  Understanding your target audience
2.  Creative vs. Critical thinking
3.  Needs oriented approach to your audience
4.  How to measure effectiveness?
5.  The art of storytelling and beginning with the end in mind.
1:15-3:30: The Model The Mentor and The Message!
Dr. Renee Rochester (Urban Set) - Living as a Model, Paying the price of a Mentor and Sharing a Message that impacts lives is what we will talk about.  How we can be equipped and empowered to effectively impact the lives of youth living in at-risk environments.  There is potential in each child. Can you see it? Do you know how to work with it? Will you celebrate the victory when they have caught what you’ve taught?  Come and learn field-tested ways to impact the lives of at-risk youth. Dr. Rochester will be sharing some nuggets from her latest book: Models Mentors and Messages, as well as from her 25 years of teaching.
